Phenomenal one of a kind tramp art chest on frame. The
traditional chip carved decoration is applied to an a-typical
salmon paper. Paper shows appropriate fading and wear. The
dynamics continue from there with stacked chip carvings,
highlighted in metallic tones of silver, copper, and green gold.
the style and forms of decoration are worthy of note and
consideration . Standard forms are punctuated by lollipops,
pinwheels, fireman style badges, hearts, and pilsners. Your
attention is drawn to center of the chest by a clock tower. Chest
and frame are separate pieces and original to one another,.
Interior of the chest is unusual and vertically slated, possibly
to hold a variety of painted clock faced or glass plate
photographic negatives. Originally found in a Pennsylvania
farmhouse. Overall height 38" x overall width 39 1/2" depth 17
1/2".
